Designing Prison Infrastructure to meet the Complex Needs of the Prison Population

Ahead of the Prison Design and Development Summit 2017 we chat to Sarah Paddick, Principal at Totaspace Design – the firm behind the remodelling of the outdated 1960’s designed Adelaide Women’s Prison’s accommodation block. In this article Sarah shares insights on the new approach to design and delivery of prison infrastructure in Australia, and further explores how design can help reduce recidivism rates by better meeting the complex needs of the prison population.
